Most paint damage happens during the wash, and much of it comes from grit that has already been removed once and then picked back up by the mitt. The Vortex Grit Guard is a simple, one-piece answer to that problem: it sits in the bottom of your bucket and keeps the dirt where it belongs.

More than 300 evenly spaced holes filter the wash solution as your mitt is rinsed, and because each hole is tapered, dirt and grit that pass through are trapped underneath rather than returning to the clean solution above. Every rinse then starts with a cleaner mitt, which is what keeps swirls and scratches out of the finish.

At 26cm in diameter it fits standard detailing buckets, and the slim 3.6cm depth means you lose very little usable wash solution to the guard itself.

Directions for use:

1. Place the guard flat in the base of your wash or rinse bucket.
2. Rinse your mitt against the guard between panels, agitating to release trapped grit.
3. Lift the guard out to empty the bucket and rinse away the collected dirt.
